ILOILO CITY SETS BIG COASTAL CLEANUP

The Iloilo City Government through the City Environmental and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) will conduct a “One Time Big Time” Coastal Clean Up on March 30 starting 6 a.m.

Mayor Jose Espinosa III issued Circular No. 062 encouraging residents, non-government organizations, national agencies, public and private schools, and City Hall employees to support the cleanup drive along the coastal areas from Brgy. Boulevard in Molo district to Brgy. Sto. Niño Sur in Arevalo district.

The initiative aims to get rid of tons of trash along the shorelines as inspired by the cleanup of Boracay and Manila Bay.

The public is also encouraged to bring one plastic bag of recyclable plastic to serve as pass to “Basura Concert” in Rac-Rap Restaurant at Zone 10, Brgy. Calaparan, Arevalo district at 5 p.m. (Merianne Grace Ereñeta/Iloilo City PIO)
