Crime incidents in Iloilo City during the second week of March this year dropped to 29 percent compared to the same period last year.
Iloilo City Police Office (ICPO) recorded a total of 45 crime incidents from March 8-14, 2019 compared to 63 incidents from March 9 to 15, 2018.

The Iloilo City Commission on Elections (Comelec) has designated common poster areas per district where campaign materials of national, party-lists, and local candidates will only be displayed in line with the May 13 midterm elections.
The common poster areas are at Plaza Libertad facing J.M. In a move to highlight the importance of reading among children, the Iloilo City Public Library (ICPL) will be conducting storytelling sessions every month starting March 8, and Read Aloud Day in line with the celebration of Public Library Day on March 9.

More visitors came to Iloilo City in 2018 as shown in the tourist arrivals with a significant increase of 15 percent compared to that of 2017.
