FIRST BRGY. CAPTAIN TO TAKE OATH

Newly-elected Punong Barangay Nestor Lobaton of Brgy. Desamparados, Jaro was the first village official to take his oath of office before Mayor Jose Espinosa III at City Hall May 15.

“I think one of the reasons why they supported me was because they have witnessed my performance in the past without any issue,” Lobaton said, noting he was on his last term as barangay kagawad.

Mayor Rex Gatchalian welcomes and hosts lunch for the team of Mayor Jose Espinosa III at the Iloilo City’s Study Tour in Valenzuela on April 13, 2018. Mayor Gatchalian informs Atty. Jose Espinosa III of the former’s wish to forge sisterhood partnership with Iloilo City. While Iloilo City came to see the best practices of Valenzuela on automation of business processes, Valenzuela aims to study how Iloilo City made the Iloilo River Esplanade a success story. 40 FIRMS JOIN 2-DAY PESO JOB FAIR AT ATRIA

To provide more job opportunities to Ilonggos, the Iloilo City Public Employment Service Office (PESO) is conducting a job fair at Metro Supermarket Atria in Mandurriao from May 17-18.
A total of 40 local and international companies are hiring during the activity.

ILOILO CITY EYES MORE KOREANS

Mayor Jose Espinosa III warmly welcomed Iloilo Korean United Community Association President Moon Dae Jin and International Cooperation Director Kim In Yong during a courtesy visit at City Hall May 17.

ILOILO CITY TOPS WV CHILD-FRIENDLY GOVERNANCE

Through its continuous effort in promoting children’s right to survival, development, protection and participation, Iloilo City Government was declared a recipient of 2017 Seal of Child-Friendly Local Governance with the highest score of 98% among cities in Western Visayas.

Iloilo City will then compete for Presidential Award for Child-Friendly Municipalities and Cities (PACFMC) in the country.

“Garnering a total score of 98% means the city was able to provide quality education, shelter, health and protection to children. I commend the Iloilo City Council for the Protection of Children and the hardworking Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC). 79 FAMILIES GET LIVELIHOOD AID

Mayor Jose Espinosa III distributed on May 8 the Cash for Work Assistance to 79 families whose houses were burned by fire at Brgy. Benedicto, Jaro.

Of the recipients, 76 families with totally damaged houses received P5,600 each while the three families with partially damaged houses got P2,800 or a total of P434,000, as validated by the City Social Welfare Development Office. Continue reading 79 FAMILIES GET LIVELIHOOD AID

BRINGING GOVERNMENT SERVICES CLOSER TO THE PEOPLE

The Iloilo City Government, headed by Mayor Jose Espinosa III, held the second round of “Pag-ulikid sang Syudad” at Barangay San Isidro, La Paz, morning of May 12.

Among the services given to residents were legal assistance, birth registration, dogs and cats castration and anti-rabbies injection, medical and dental consultations, senior citizen registration, City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) assistance, circumcision, among others.
